Today, June 9, 2025, Jupiter enters the constellation Cancer, where it will remain until July 2026. As the largest and one of the oldest planets in our solar system – formed 4.6 billion years ago, approximately 200 million years before Earth – Jupiter’s massive magnetic field helped shape the formation and orbits of the other planets, earning it the honorary title “architect of the solar system.”

Astrologically, Jupiter is the planet of abundance, good fortune, and expansion. It traditionally rules the sign of Sagittarius, but its transits affect everyone. Jupiter spends just over a year in each zodiac sign before moving on, and it was last in Cancer from June 2013 to July 2014. While this current transit may feel especially “close to home” for those with Cancer Sun, Moon, or Rising placements, everyone has Cancer somewhere in their birth chart – so everyone will experience this cosmic visitation in some way.

Jupiter is traditionally associated with the dramatic arts, including theater and storytelling. In Cancer – a sign connected to home and community – Jupiter’s transit is an opportunity for a fresh and more expansive “take” on our personal story of home, connection, and our sense of safety in the world.

So, think back: Where were you between June 2013 and July 2014? What was unfolding in your life during that time? What did “home” mean for you then, and what does it mean now? How do you want your earthly home to feel?

To understand the plot, we must first tell the story.
